Today

Hospicomm provides consulting and outsourcing services to providers of health care. The company provides consultation in the areas of project planning, management and development. In addition, through its solid relationships with the financial community, Hospicomm offers consultative services in project funding. It provides on-site operations management for 8 facilities, including Nursing Centers, Acute Care Providers, Adult Medical Day Care facilities and Assisted Living providers. Also, through its INFORMM subsidiary, it provides a full range of financial management data processing services.

Our History

Hospicomm was founded in 1976 by Benjamin F. Miller and Eugene Mayer. Initially a consulting company specializing in management, planning and development services to providers of senior housing and healthcare services, the company quickly evolved to meet the burgeoning needs of an expanding elderly population.

By 1980, the company had established solid relationships with the financial community, and began providing consultation in project funding. Also, it began providing project development and operations management. In the 1990s, Hospicomm began managing health care services in a continuing care retirement community and started facility-based and freestanding adult medical day care facilities. Also, it planned, developed and opened an outpatient dialysis center.

Tomorrow

Hospicomm is expanding subacute services and specialized adult medical day care projects. As the population evolves and its needs change Hospicomm is committed to remaining at the forefront of technology and innovation to help our clients address the future challenges in providing healthcare.

Hospicomm operates facilities under both multiple year and short-term contracts. Our multiple year contracts primarily are with not-for-profit owners who seek our expertise in providing the highest quality care while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Our Founders

Benjamin F. Miller
Benjamin Miller is co-founder and director of Hospicomm. He provides oversight of the firm’s operations as well as directly manages capital project administration and development of new services and marketing. In addition, he directs special consulting services in the areas of licensure compliance, environmental compliance, life safety regulation and non-institutional care.

Mr. Miller serves as the New Jersey State President of the American Health Care Association Board of Directors. Also, he serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Health Care Association of New jersey. He is a long term care industry representative to the New Jersey Department of Health and a committee member of the New Jersey Department of Human Services. In addition, he is a regional delegate to the American Health Care Association and a member of the National Fire Protection Association.

Eugene Mayer
Eugene Mayer is co-founder and director of Hospicomm. He oversees the firm’s operations and provides fiscal operations administration and liaison with corporate and non-profit clients. Mr. Mayer directs consulting services in the areas of zoning, purchasing administration, ancillary services and staff development.

Together with Benjamin Miller, Mr. Mayer founded Hospicomm in 1976. Previously, he served as Professor of Health Care Management and Administration at St. Francis College in New York. Prior to joining St. Francis College, he was an analyst with the Central Jersey Health Planning Council. Earlier, he served as Assistant to the President of Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA.

He is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and a member of the American Health Care Association and the American Health Care Planning Association. Also, he is a member of the Healthcare Association of New Jersey.
